The time has come again for another upgrade to our Blackboard Learn System. We are getting ready to move to the next service pack. With the new Service Pack 8, comes a newer and refreshed “look” to Blackboard. Fortunately, all of the functionality will remain the same and also everything stays in the same place.
Even though you’ll notice some difference in how Blackboard looks and feels, anyone who has been able to use Blackboard in the past should have no difficulty using it after our upgrade.
The upgrade will take place on Saturday, August 11 beginning at 7:30 pm (Central Daylight Savings Time). The expected downtime will be 19 hours.
In the coming days and weeks, as the upgrade date approaches, we’ll post regular reminders of the upgrade and with some tutorials, screenshots and video tours of the new service pack.
If any instructor would like to take a look at what the system will look like after the upgrade, post a comment below and we will set you up with a temporary account on our staging server (https://wbu-staging.blackboard.com). We can even import one of your classes so you can test it out on the new environment. Let us know if you are interested.
